About Us
The Dawn Wellness Centre and Rehab is a residential addiction and mental health treatment centre located on the outskirts of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. Set on a peaceful riverfront property, The Dawn first opened its doors in 2017 to meet the needs of Westerners and Australians who required immediate access to high-quality treatment but faced long waitlists in their home countries. Since then, we have used an evidence-based treatment treatment model to treat more than 1,400 clients from 65 countries, with our largest client groups coming from the UK, Australia and the USA.
As we cater to a primarily international clientele, we are consistently striving to keep our services on par with the best treatment centres in the West. Today, The Dawn Wellness Centre and Rehab Thailand is proud to be Asia’s only CARF-accredited centre. Our dedication to being the best, however, does not stop with this milestone.
The Dawn and Viva are both operated by The Dawn Group.

Our Accreditation and Licensing
The Dawn is the only rehab in Asia accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), a top-tier accreditation from the United States awarded only to centres delivering the highest standards of treatment. CARF accreditation means our evidence-based treatment methods, person-centred and trauma-informed approach, and standards of care and safety are held to the same benchmarks you would find at leading rehabilitation centres in the US, UK and Australia. Our Thailand rehab programme holds a three-year CARF accreditation, the highest level possible.
We are also fully licensed by the Thai Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). This means The Dawn is regulated and undergoes regular inspections to ensure we continue to meet national standards for safety and quality of care.

Who We Treat
The Dawn treats adults experiencing addiction, substance use disorders and mental health conditions, through dedicated, separate treatment tracks. Around half of our clients come to us for mental health reasons such as trauma, depression, anxiety or burnout rather than addiction, and many clients with addiction are also managing co-occurring mental health conditions, which we treat simultaneously.
Our clients come from 65 countries, with our largest client groups by country or region arriving from the UK, Australia, and the USA, alongside 8 to 10% from the Middle East. Approximately 50% of The Dawn’s clients are aged between 25 and 54 years. Our male to female ratio is 55/45. 30% of The Dawn’s clients are high-functioning senior professionals who need treatment that holds up alongside a demanding career.
Our Vision
To make The Dawn the preferred choice for individuals looking to improve their quality of life.
Our Mission
To provide a better life through high-quality treatment to people from around the world in a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment
Our Clinical Philosophy
It is evidenced that individuals use substances, develop mental disorders or other maladaptive coping mechanisms as a result of trauma and/or adverse life experiences. At The Dawn, we therefore address your presenting and underlying issues by employing a trauma-informed, person- centered approach based on the following six core treatment values:
- Safety and stability
- Trustworthiness and transparency
- Peer support
- Collaboration and mutuality in treatment planning (clients, staff, families)
- Empowerment and choice
- Cultural, historical and gender issues
Our Team at The Dawn Rehab Thailand
Our clinical team is led by Western-trained therapists, psychiatrists, and addiction specialists, each bringing extensive expertise in addiction recovery, trauma, and co-occurring mental health treatment.
